Traditional Ways

Traditional Ways is led by Lynda Gerow, the Centre’s Traditional Ways Liaison.

For community, Traditional Ways helps people safely reach Elders, Knowledge Keepers, Matriarchs, healers, and traditional wellness practices. In health and correctional settings, it supports Indigenous people on a path to healing and returning to community that is culturally safe, mindful of trauma, and grounded in ceremony, circles, and spiritual teachings.

For organizations, Traditional Ways guides non-Indigenous agencies and workplaces on Indigenous protocols, including local land acknowledgements, working with Elders, smudging ceremonies, and Indigenous history. Workshops help staff understand the history of residential schools and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action.
